Delrin® acetal (Polyoxymethylene POM) combines low friction and high wear resistance with the stiffness and strength needed in parts designed to replace metal. It provides a wide operating temperature range (-40°C to 120°C), good colorability and good mating with metal and other polymers, as well as dimensional stability in high precision molding.

The types of Titanium used are: VT1.0, VT 6, and OT4.1. Titanium is nearly half the weight of Stainless Steel, yet is much stronger.
For an Aluminium Backplate to be as strong as Helium-Dives 2mm Backplate, it would have to be at least 4mm in thickness, which would lead to weight gain. Thus, by using Titanium, Helium-Dive can make the backplates very light without reducing strength. The second main feature of using Titanium is for its corrosion resistance in sea water.Titanium is not susceptible to corrosion in sea water; making Titanium dive parts last almost forever. Aluminium is susceptible to corrosion as soon as its coating sees any abrasion, or if it encounters Stainless Steel; such as with the use of studs for twinset cylinders. For the manufacturing of the Titanium dive gear, Helium-Dive has found that Hydro-abrasive cutting is quite effective and does not spoil its structure. Since the temperature at the cutting point does not exceed 90 degrees, there are no material changes to the metal. Laser cutting has also been found to be quite effective. Once cut, Edge and groove processing is completed on a multi axis CNC machine. This process is for deburring and edge striping. Each Backplate goes through this process twice. After the machining process, the plate passes through mechanical grinding to remove not deep scratches or traces of mechanical impact.
After processing, the backplates move to the bending area where it is given to the desired shape. Finishing is done through plasma polishing or Hydro-abrasive polishing; depending on the desired effect and surface. Xcel wetsuit is NOT includes.
